Egy-egy fényképezőgép bejelentés előtt kétféle módon szivároghat ki információ: vagy egy belső, vagy a céghez közel álló ember árul el néhány érdekességet a gépről, ilyenkor egy-két adatra derül csak fény, vagy valemelyik weboldalon jelenik meg korábban a teljes specifikáció. Nem egyszer fordult már elő, hogy egy-egy gyártó valamely országban lévő weboldalán már a bejelentés előtt véletlenül kikerült a teljes adatlap.
